Making Sense of the Nonsensical!

It’s a challenge to figure out what’s going on around us.  For example:

Trump and Pence openly disagree on which fellow Republicans to support.

Trump has a disastrous two weeks and yet raises more money than ever.

While she is in a standoff with police (and is killed) a woman goes online to solicit advice from followers.

Moon Express, a start-up, has received federal approval to land on the moon.

After an attempted coup, Turkey’s President Erdogan is purging everyone in sight:
            9,000 police officers
            21,000 teachers
            10,000 soldiers
            2,745 judges and staff
            1,500 university deans
            And more . . .

The U.S. sends $400 million in cash to Iran on pallets in a cargo plane because the two nations don’t have a banking relationship.

The Supreme Court has blocked a court order that would have allowed a Virginia transgender boy to use the boys’ bathroom.  Good news for social conservatives.  Bad news for civil rights.

Texas has agreed not to enforce strict ID laws in November’s election.  Good news for Black and Latino voters.  Bad news for Texas racists.

A Tea Party Congressman and leading obstructionist lost his primary in Kansas.  Good news, period.

A current rumor is that Republicans are trying to get Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich to do an intervention with Donald Trump.  That would be like trying to put out a fire with gasoline.

Looking for a consistent theme in all this?  Good luck!
